Hiles Motorsport started with a love for rally, a few ambitious ideas, and a willingness to have a crack.
 

What began as Tim Hiles chasing seat time and learning the ropes quickly grew into something much bigger. Over the years, Tim has built a reputation for being seriously competitive behind the wheel while still holding onto everything that makes grassroots motorsport so good, the mateship, the late nights in the shed, the problem-solving, the community and, of course, the stories that come with keeping an old Subaru alive.
 

At the centre of it all is Gramps, our 1992 Subaru Legacy RS. He might not be the newest, quickest or flashiest car in the field, but he has become a huge part of the Hiles Motorsport identity. Between the unmistakable sound, the battle scars, the sideways moments and Tim’s ability to extract far more from the car than anyone reasonably expects, Gramps has become a genuine crowd favourite. That combination has also delivered results. Hiles Motorsport has claimed back-to-back WA Production Cup Championships, competed across state and national-level events, and built a reputation for punching well above its weight against newer and more heavily funded machinery.
 

In 2026, Hiles Motorsport grew again when Stef joined the team with her Subaru WRX, affectionately known as Artie. Alongside competing in Speedway since a young age and learning the ropes in the rally world, Stef also brought her background in media, content creation and partnerships into the team, helping Hiles Motorsport evolve beyond what happens on the stages and build a stronger identity around the people, cars and community behind it.
 

Today, Hiles Motorsport is still proudly grassroots. We’re competitive, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We want to go fast, keep improving, create memorable cars and experiences, and bring people along for the ride. At the end of the day, it all comes back to the same reason we started, we simply love cars!
